Lee Gang Doo dreamed of becoming a soccer player, but an accident ended those dreams. His father died in the accident and he broke his leg. Gang Doo spent 3 years in rehab. Now, he doesn’t have anything and just wastes his days. Gang Doo then meets Ha Moon Soo. Ha Moon Soo makes architecture models. Moon Soo also endured through the same accident that killed her younger sibling. She has suffered from guilt that she survived. She has lived her life earnestly, while suppressing her feelings. After meeting Lee Gang Doo, Ha Moon Soo begins to express her hidden feelings.

This is a conspiracy theory period movie based on true events, that led to the eventual assassination of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The movie demonstrates a violent India, at the backdrop of a non-violent Gandhi, and hard-line fanatic mindsets beginning to grow roots in an India divided on the basis of religion. This movie is a story of three police officers in different parts of India, who, well aware of the intelligence that Gandhi’s life is under threat, must take key decisions that would eventually either save the Mahatma, or the country.

Prabhakar (Jiiva) is a Tamil teacher in a private school in west Mambalam area of Chennai, who leads a lonely life in a lodge. He is frustrated and even tries to commit suicide, in a system where knowing your mother tongue and teaching it is looked down upon by a society craving for material benefits and imbalance in pay structure.
The narration is mostly in a series of flashbacks. Prabhakar, for no fault of his, is at the receiving end, terrorized by cops and on the run after killing a railway booking clerk in a fit of rage. He roams all around the country and joins some saadhus, high on pot and also grows his hair long and keeps a shaggy beard. Finally he wants to exorcise the devils within and at gun point kidnaps a television anchor Yuvaan-Suang(Karunas), who records his life story, where he confesses to killing 22 people in cold blood.

Vinod survived physical and mental abuse in his childhood. When he falls in love with Divya, he gets so obsessed with her that he becomes willing to kill anyone who comes in her way.

Thirumalai (Nasser) owns a provision store in a village and lives with his family comprising his wife (Saranya Ponvannan), brother-in-law Karupatti Ayyakannu (Vadivelu), son Krishnan (Bharath) and a daughter. Thirumalai is very strict, short tempered and is referred as “Emden” by his relatives. Krishnan studies poultry science in a college and also assists his father in managing the store. Krishnan worries about his father’s rude behaviour towards him.
Divya (Gajala) is Krishnan’s classmate and she is also the daughter of the auditor who manages Thirumalai’s accounts. Divya proposes to Krishnan, who does not reciprocate as he loves his maternal uncle’s (Shanmugarajan) daughter, Janani (Gopika). But enmity prevails between Thirumalai and his in laws’ family. Krishnan lives with the hope that the two families will unite someday paving the way for his wedding.

Dhayalan & Singaperumal both work as Engineers in Neyveli Lignite Corporation. Dhayalan wishes to nurture and encourage his son Vetrieswaran’s skills and talents meanwhile Singaperumal makes his son Chakravarthy Singaperumal only focus on his school studies and nothing else. Mayil, Nandhini & Bhanu are friends with both of them. All of them sit for their 10th std exam in which Chakravarthy and Bhanu rank as State toppers. Singaperumal admits his son in a Residential School where they focus mainly on academics but Chakravarthy dislikes that School and he feels tortured. Vetri and his friends then hatch a plan to meet him in his hostel where visiting permission is denied bluntly. They then smuggle Chakravarthy out of his hostel to show him a good day out filled with fun and excitement. The Hostel warden punishes him severely for his actions and he dies as a result. The school authorities cover up the whole incident. Dhayalan exposes the school by lodging an official police complaint. However, Singaperumal loses his son merely due to the pressures of obtaining a perfect education.

A storm rages. A young girl is kidnapped. Her mother teams up with the mysterious woman next door to pursue the kidnapper, a journey that tests their limits and exposes shocking secrets from their pasts.

The story is single layered and revolves around a car. A village Pannaiyar or landlord (Jayaprakash) takes a liking for a Fiat Premier Padmini car that has been left in his care by a friend. Pannaiyar falls in love with the car and appoints Murugesan (Vijay Sethupathi) a tractor driver as his personal driver. Soon the car becomes an all-purpose vehicle for the villagers. But for Pannaiyar, his wife Chellamma (Thulasi) and Murugesan, the car is a like a family member. Due to unavoidable circumstances the car is taken away leaving them heartbroken.

Thavathiru Sivadas Swamigal (Nassar) runs a drama troupe in which Thalaivankottai Kaliappa Bhagavathar (Siddharth) and Melachivilberi Gomathi Nayagam Pillai(Prithviraj) are his direct disciples. Gomathi is left by his father in the troupe of Swami. Kali is found by Swami during a train trip where the boy is singing and begging alms. Impressed by his singing talents, Swami takes the boy with him. Gomathi and Kaliappa have relationship like brothers. They grow up together and stage many plays where Gomathi often plays “Sthripart” – the female role and Kali plays “sidepart”- supporting characters. While Vadivambal (Vedhicka) joins as the female member in the group, soon falls in love with Kali, while Gomathi falls for Vadivu, however, Kali loves Rangamma (Anaika Soti), the princess of the zameen. Bhairava (Ponvannan) who is another student of Swami is a popular “Rajapart” – performing main title characters of a stage play. He becomes headstrong over his acting capabilities and does not attend the rehearsals for which he gets scoldings from Swami. After a quarrel, he leaves the troupe as he could not bear the torture of Swami. Swami does not give up and conducts an audition for the main character role of Soorapadman in which Kali and Gomathi perform. Kali gets selected, which leaves Gomathi angry. The reason behind Swami’s bias towards Kali is never answered clearly to Gomathi which leaves him more frustrated.
