Rudhramadevi
Ganapatideva was the emperor of the Kakatiya dynasty who rules Kakatiya Empire from Orugallu(present day Warangal, Telangana) as its Capital. With Kakatiya Dynasty at a problem, Ganapatideva’s wife gives birth to a baby girl, but as the Dynasty is in big trouble and the people want a prince, not a princess the minister advises king to announce the baby girl as a boy. Rudramadevi was formally designated as a son and given the male name Rudradeva, through the ancient Putrika ceremony. But, during Rudramadevi’s birth, an astrologer predicted that a baby girl is born to rule the kingdom jointly with her father as his co-regent from 1259–60 under the name of Rudradeva Maharaja.

Kaaviya Thalaivan
Thavathiru Sivadas Swamigal (Nassar) runs a drama troupe in which Thalaivankottai Kaliappa Bhagavathar (Siddharth) and Melachivilberi Gomathi Nayagam Pillai(Prithviraj) are his direct disciples. Gomathi is left by his father in the troupe of Swami. Kali is found by Swami during a train trip where the boy is singing and begging alms. Impressed by his singing talents, Swami takes the boy with him. Gomathi and Kaliappa have relationship like brothers. They grow up together and stage many plays where Gomathi often plays “Sthripart” – the female role and Kali plays “sidepart”- supporting characters. While Vadivambal (Vedhicka) joins as the female member in the group, soon falls in love with Kali, while Gomathi falls for Vadivu, however, Kali loves Rangamma (Anaika Soti), the princess of the zameen. Bhairava (Ponvannan) who is another student of Swami is a popular “Rajapart” – performing main title characters of a stage play. He becomes headstrong over his acting capabilities and does not attend the rehearsals for which he gets scoldings from Swami. After a quarrel, he leaves the troupe as he could not bear the torture of Swami. Swami does not give up and conducts an audition for the main character role of Soorapadman in which Kali and Gomathi perform. Kali gets selected, which leaves Gomathi angry. The reason behind Swami’s bias towards Kali is never answered clearly to Gomathi which leaves him more frustrated.

Hey Ram
The movie begins at present day with Saket Ram (Kamal Haasan), an 89-year-old Hindu man at his death bed in Madras. He is being taken care of by his grandson Saket Ram Junior, a famous novelist who writes historical fiction, and their family doctor, Munawar. Ram Jr. explains how he grew up listening to his grandfather’s stories. He then narrates one of his grandfather’s strangest stories that he plans to use for his next novel. As Ram Jr. narrates the story, Ram is reminded of it.
The scene reverts to the 1940s, when he and his good friend, Amjad Ali Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) are archaeologists working together under their boss, Mortimer Wheeler, in Mohenjo-daro in the Sindh province in what was then North-West India. Relations are pleasant between the Indians and the English. Saket and Amjad do not approve of partition and the creation of Pakistan.

Ramanujan
‘Ramanujan’ is a historical biopic set in early 20th century British India and England, and revolves around the life and times of the mathematical prodigy, Srinivasa Ramanujan. Directed by the award-winning filmmaker Gnana Rajasekaran and with an international cast and crew, ‘Ramanujan’ is a cross-border venture. Considered one of the most romantic stories in the history of mathematics, Ramanujan, a college dropout from a poor family in South India, made extraordinary mathematical discoveries in isolation. He wrote a strange letter filled with theorems and formulas to Prof. Hardy of Trinity College, Cambridge, who immediately identified his genius and invited him to England to conduct further research. ‘Ramanujan’ chronicles the genius’ journey across continents and cultures in search of recognition.

Bajirao Mastani
Bajirao 1, who fought over 41 major battles and many others, was reputed never to have lost a single one of them. Bajirao is described as “RANMARD” a man made of and for the battlefield. Bajirao said to his brother “Remember that night has nothing to do with sleep. It was created by God, to raid territory held by your enemy. The night is your shield, your screen against the cannons and swords of vastly superior enemy forces. ” A born cavalry leader Bajirao was unequaled for the daring and originality of his genius. Mastani, the fabled warrior princess was the daughter of Raja Chattrasal and his Persian wife Roohani Begum. An expert dancer, singer and warrior, Mastani is sent to battle at the head of the Bundelkhand army. A chance meeting on a war field where they fight on the same side, puts Bajirao and Mastani on a course of passionate love- that is unstoppable by either of their families, by war or by death itself.

Paradesi
Rasa (Atharvaa) is a carefree young man living in a rural village in the Madras Presidency during the early days of the British Raj. Orphaned at a young age, he is brought up by his grandmother. Angamma (Vedhicka), a local girl falls for him and takes pleasure in bullying him. When she finally confesses her feelings for him, they become intimate and soon reveal the fact that they are in love before the entire village and also get into physical relationship. Angamma’s mother objects as Rasa is unemployed and irresponsible, making him unqualified to become anyone’s husband.
Rasa then goes to the nearby village in search of work. He comes across a friendly Kangani, who then follows Rasa back to his village. The Kangani offers a work for the villagers at the British tea plantations at the hillside. He promises them proper accommodation and high wages. Like many of the villagers, Rasa signs up with the Kangani, hoping he can send home money every month for his ailing grandmother. Both Angamma and his grandmother are sad to watch him go.

Jodhaa Akbar
Jodhaa, the daughter of King Bharmal of Amer, gets betrothed to another Rajput king and her dowry was her father’s crown, which will pass to that Rajput king, after his death. Through this arrangement, the son of the elder brother of the king, Sujamal gets deprived of his rightful throne and he leaves the kingdom angrily to join rebels. When Mughal empire plans to attack Amer, King Bharmal resentfully makes a peace offering and a proposal to strengthen relations by his daughter’s marriage to the emperor himself to avoid war. Akbar agrees to the marriage as it would bring forward a true strong alliance and long lasting peace between the empire and Rajputs. Jodhaa completely resented being reduced to a mere political pawn and she wants to marry the Rajput king she was betrothed to previously. She writes a letter to Sujamal, her cousin, entreating him to come rescue her from the marriage, but she doesn’t send it, though. Jodhaa shares all her misery with her mother, who tells her to send a servant girl in her place.

Kisna The Warrior Poet
Lady Catherine, a wealthy British woman, arrives in India to donate Rs 3500 Crores to charity as part of India’s Republic Day Celebrations. Before she can hand over the money, she requests a visit to Devprayag, where India’s 2 great rivers Bhagirithi and Alaknanda meet to form the mighty Ganges River. At Devprayag, Lady Catherine remembers her childhood and narrates her story to the small crowd, which includes a journalist.

Paalai
The film was shot extensively in the forests of Thanjavur, Mysore and Sathyamangalam. Actress Shammu was the only professional actress to be cast in the film and Sunil Kumar prepared for his role by standing for hours under the sun to sport a tan as well as learning the basics of different forms of martial arts. It became the actress’s final film before she left the film industry to complete her education. Members of the Irula tribe also acted in the film.

Gautamiputra Satakarni
Gautamiputra Satakarni (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is 2nd century AD Satavahana ruler of Amaravati who has a dream from his childhood that to unite all the 32 kingdoms in the country under one roof, to stop internal collisions between the rulers to establish peace. He takes oath on his mother Gautami Balashri (Hema Malini) and starts his mission at the age of 18 and he gives only two options to the kings on his way either peace by surrendering their sword to him or war. It takes 18 long years to achieve his goal and takes entire South India under his control. Time being Satakarni marries Vashishthi Devi (Shriya Saran) and they have a son Pulumavi (Master Snehit Chowdary).

Ghazi
In 1971, amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan over the liberation war of East Pakistan, Pakistan navy, in a top secret mission, plans an attack on Indian majestic-class aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, to gain control over the waters of Bay of Bengal. They send their best-in-class submarine PNS Ghazi, but are intercepted by an Indian submarine INS Karanj (S21). An underwater attack ensues.

Pisaasu
A violinist experiences paranormal experience in his flat after a death of a girl who he tries to save due to accident. Later he realises that actually the spirit is helping him and he tries to find out who killed the girl by accident.

Munirathna Kurukshetra
The film is loosely based on the Indian epic Mahabharata and poet Ranna’s Gadhayuddha with the story centered upon Duryodhana, a Kaurava king.

Aravaan

Rangoon
In 1943, as the Second World War rages on, India is fighting a war of her own: independence from British rule. Subash Chandra Bose, founder of the Indian National Army (INA), has become disenchanted with Mahatma Gandhi’s Ahimsa (non-violent) movement and desires to fight fire with fire. Recognizing the growing dominance of Imperial Japanese Army in the Indo-China region, the INA allies itself with the Japanese, hoping to ride the wave to Delhi. Indian troops in the British Indian Army are locked in pitched battles with both the INA and its Japanese contingent. In one such skirmish close to the Indo-Burma border, Jemadar Nawab Malik (Shahid Kapoor) and a group of fellow soldiers are cornered by the Japanese infantry. Running to escape on a barge, he is shot and captured as a prisoner of war. Meanwhile, the INA’s top brass desperately seeks finances to replenish its heavy ammunition to aid the charge to Delhi.

Gandhi
Gandhi’s character is fully explained as a man of nonviolence. Through his patience, he is able to drive the British out of the subcontinent. And the stubborn nature of Jinnah and his commitment towards Pakistan is portrayed.

Demonte Colony
Raghavan (Sananth), an aspiring filmmaker, narrates a horror story to a film producer (Singampuli), who instead asks for a comedy. Sajith (Abhishek) is an electrician living a miserable life, while Vimal (Ramesh Thilak) is a graphic designer. Their friend Srinivasan (Arulnithi) is involved in a platonic relationship with Jillu (Jangiri Madhumita), a married woman, in return for money. Out of false bravado, the four men decide to visit a dilapidated mansion in De Monte Colony, which is rumoured to be haunted. They sneak into the house and get separated in the darkness and have a chilling and forgetful experience, although all of them manage to come out seemingly unscathed.
