“Kanmani papa” screen played in a ‘horror suspense thriller’

KD, an 80-year-old villager overhears his children say that they want him dead to claim their inheritance. Realizing he has never truly lived, he enlists the help of a young orphan boy Kutti. The pair head off on a road trip trying to complete KD’s bucket list, rediscovering the meaning of life and friendship along the way.

It centers on cyber harassment, and the importance of parents being made aware of their children’s problems.

In the fictitious city of Kaza, a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian Shudh Singh. Shamshera is a legend for his tribe who relentlessly fights for his tribe’s freedom and dignity.

In 1943, as the Second World War rages on, India is fighting a war of her own: independence from British rule. Subash Chandra Bose, founder of the Indian National Army (INA), has become disenchanted with Mahatma Gandhi’s Ahimsa (non-violent) movement and desires to fight fire with fire. Recognizing the growing dominance of Imperial Japanese Army in the Indo-China region, the INA allies itself with the Japanese, hoping to ride the wave to Delhi. Indian troops in the British Indian Army are locked in pitched battles with both the INA and its Japanese contingent. In one such skirmish close to the Indo-Burma border, Jemadar Nawab Malik (Shahid Kapoor) and a group of fellow soldiers are cornered by the Japanese infantry. Running to escape on a barge, he is shot and captured as a prisoner of war. Meanwhile, the INA’s top brass desperately seeks finances to replenish its heavy ammunition to aid the charge to Delhi.

Theju is a software engineer who goes into a depression following the break up with her boyfriend. She distances herself from her family and becomes an alcoholic.

The story begins when a teen named Suri escapes and finds a drug dealer tormenting some little boys. Suri guns down the drug dealer. One of the boys, Raghava/Jadhav, expresses his wish to join him. The rest of the boys become Suri’s helpers and eventually his henchmen. The film continues 20 years later with Suri (Akkineni Nagarjuna) and Raghava/Jadhav (Raghava Lawrence), and with the establishment of the fact that Suri is the don with a golden heart. Then, he has Raghava/Jadhav as his sidekick who adores him to death. Together, they rule the underworld of Andhra Pradesh. Since Suri is the unopposed kingpin, he has time for a song and dance on his birthday with his basti people. Everything is peaceful and hunky dory, but only until Stephen/Feroz (Kelly Dorji) enters the scene. He is a feared don throughout India who wants to add Andhra to his underworld fiefdom. Suri refuses to work with Stephen/Feroz. In many attempts to kill Suri, Stephen’s/Feroz’s men get killed. Rathnam (Kota Srinivasa Rao) wants to kill Raghava/Jadhav. Raghava/Jadhav kills Rathnam because the latter hosted a hideout for Stephen’s/Feroz’s men in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Suri falls in love with Priya (Anushka Shetty). At first, she doesn’t like him but later begins to like him. Raghava/Jadhav also finds a girl he likes. In that process, he is cornered, where his fiancé Nandhini (Nikita Thukral) ends up being on the villains side. Raghava/Jadhav is killed. In a final meet between Suri and Stephen/Feroz, the latter returns Raghava’s/Jadhav’s bullet-ridden body and challenges Suri to a fight on the condition that ‘A person will lose two of his men for each fall he takes’. Angered and heartbroken by Raghava’s/Jadhav’s death, Suri accepts his challenge. As the fight progresses, Suri loses two of his men. Determined to win, Suri continues the fight and thrashes up Stephen/Feroz and his two well-trained women bodyguards. The fight ends with Stephen/Feroz getting killed by Suri, and he warns Stephen’s/Feroz’s remaining men not to be like their boss.

Nandini, Kishore, Mahesh, Scud, Bhakti, Jessica, Chandana and Sridhar / Sri are all friends from school. They all finish their final year exams and try their level best to kick start their careers while they face some interesting situations in life. Nandini and her senior Kishore are in love. But Nandini’s father hardly understands his kid’s yearning for some lost prestige. Mahesh and Scud haven’t been on talking terms since years. Bhakti is a happy go lucky girl, or so it seems. Jessica, a foreign student, is trying to make it big in fashion in India, living as a guest with rich Chandana. Sridhar is in love with Chandana but doesn’t want to express it to her before he settles down in life. And then there is Dakshayini, who is bent on stealing Sridhar from Chandana. The film covers the coming of age of all these friends, as they try to solve a Rubik’s cube called life. It also covers a lot of issues like acid attacks on girls, suicides, misunderstandings, false prestige and so on.

Amidst his personal struggles, Tamizh calls his friends – a DOP, a director-wannabe with 40 years of industry experience and three young Assistant directors, for a discussion to develop a script for his first film.

A serial killer (Anurag Kashyap) disrupts peace in Bengaluru by kidnapping. He goes by the name of the highly notorious serial killer Rudra, who was announced dead five years ago. After another such case, in which the CBI are involved headed by Anjali (Nayanthara), he goes live and declares himself as the deceased Rudra. He insists that Rudra is still alive and announces that he is now back in action. Anjali, who dealt with the earlier case of Rudra, is appointed to deal with him.
In a parallel storyline, Anjali’s brother Arjun (Atharvaa) is facing a rough phase in his relationship. The film flashes back to his life with his lover Krithika Rao (Raashi Khanna) and how they eventually break up. To make it up to her, he, with his friend Vinoth (Ramesh Thilak), travels to Bangalore to meet her and enters the deadly scene between Rudra and Anjali. The cat-and-mouse game gets too intense when Rudra brings Arjun into the game by kidnapping Krithika and demanding a ransom from her father. In an effort to save Krithika, Arjun follows Rudra’s orders and gets framed as “Rudra”, making things much more complicated for him. Anjali is suspended, and Officer Narayan (Devan) takes over the case.
