Dangal
Mahavir Singh Phogat is a former amateur wrestler and national champion residing in Balali. He was forced by his father to give up the sport in order to obtain gainful employment. Dejected that he could not win a medal for his country, he vows that his unborn son will. Disappointed upon having four daughters, he gives up hope. But when his older daughters Geeta and Babita come home after beating up two boys in response to derogatory comments, he realises their potential to become wrestlers and begins coaching them.
His methods seem harsh, including grueling early morning workouts and short haircuts. Despite facing backlash from the villagers, he goes ahead with them, training them in his makeshift mud pit. Initially, the girls resent their father for his treatment but soon realise that he cares for their future. Motivated, they willingly participate in wrestling tournaments where they defeat boys. Unable to afford wrestling mats, he uses mattresses and trains them in freestyle wrestling to prepare them for competitive events. Geeta goes on to win the junior and senior championships at the state and national level before heading to the National Sports Academy in Patiala to train for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.

Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva
ACP Shivakumar IPS (Raghava Lawrence) is a corrupt police officer who gets transferred to Chennai and misuses his power to gain money. During this process, he encourages an MP named GK (Ashutosh Rana), who has become a headache to Kirubakaran (Sathyaraj), the Police Commissioner of Chennai. Shiva is Kiruba’s son, who is angry on the latter as his negligence killed his mother (Sukanya) and sister, though Kiruba left his wife in the hospital to save several families in a riot. Shiva left Kiruba and became an IPS officer to seek revenge on him. Shiva meets Jaanu (Nikki Galrani), a journalist working for Sun News; and Nithya, a philanthropist who works in a coffee shop. Shiva loves Jaanu but gets rejected by her because of his corrupt nature. Nithya is killed by GK’s brother Sanjay (Vamsi Krishna) when she tries to save a techie from getting raped. Shiva then turns against GK. Shiva challenges GK to save Sanjay from getting arrested. GK manages to kidnap the techie. But with the help of a transgender that witnessed the murder of Nithya, Shiva arrests Sanjay and challenges GK to bring Sanjay out of jail within three days. Kiruba and Shiva are reunited, and Shiva’s marriage with Jaanu is approved. On the third day, GK’s men kidnap the transgender and Jaanu. The transgender gets killed. Shiva receives a call from GK, who has kidnapped Jaanu and Kiruba and challenges Shiva to save them by bringing Sanjay to him. Shiva reaches the spot. On arriving, he finds Kiruba dead and Jaanu attached with a bomb. Shiva kills GK’s henchmen. At that time, Shiva’s service vehicle reaches. GK and his partners are thrown into the vehicle, on which petrol is poured. Shiva shoots the van, and they die in the blast. Later, Kiruba is revealed to be alive, and Shiva reunites with him once more.

Jayam
The story is centered in a village where the parents of first cousins Sujatha (Sadha) and Raghu (Gopichand) decide that they will be married to each other when they become adults. As a child, Sujatha’s uncle gives her anklets, which she wears as she grows up. As they grow older, Raghu is caught smuggling money from his house. At school, Raghu beats up a kid for talking to Sujatha. They quarrel, and Raghu’s family leaves for another village. Sujatha grows to be an attractive college student, while Raghu becomes a good-for-nothing character. On her way to college, Sujatha meets Ravi (Jayam Ravi), a poor, charming, and enthusiastic young man. He asks her to wear her anklets to college again, and soon after their quarrels, they fall in love. Meanwhile, Raghu’s parents (Nizhalgal Ravi and Nalini), hoping that he will become a responsible person after marriage, decide to carry out his marriage with Sujatha. The story takes a turn when Sujatha’s parents (Rajeev and Pragathi) learn about her love affair with Ravi. On the day of her marriage, Sujatha elopes with Ravi, and the action heats up as they are chased by Raghu and his thugs. Finally, Raghu is defeated in a face-to-face combat with Ravi, and Ravi marries Sujatha.
