Madras
Kaali (Karthi) is an impulsive and short-tempered working class man who works in an IT company and enjoys playing football during his free time. His best friend is Anbu (Kalaiyarasan), who is a young political aspirant. They along with their gang live in the dilapidated flats of the housing board in Vyasarpadi, North Chennai. In a long-standing bloody feud, two factions of a political party have been laying claim to a wall on which they can paint the portraits of their respective political leaders. Anbu, under the local leader of one of the opposing parties, Maari (Charles Vinoth), is determined to claim that wall for their own party. The other party chief is Kannan (Poster Nandakumar) and his son Perumal (Mime Gopi) who are hell bent in making sure that their opponents efforts go in vain. The painting of Kannan’s father’s face has been on the wall for two decades, since the start of the feud. The two parties and their supporters get into frequent clashes and scrapes. In the meantime, Kaali falls in love with Kalaiarasi (Catherine Tresa), and she too reciprocates his feelings.

Engal Aasan
The film features Captain Vijayakanth in the role of a bank officer named Mahendran who is transferred to the branch of Village Nilakottai to sort out the perplexing situation of bank fraud carried on by a big shot Marthandan (Debutant Ramki). Over there, he happens to find out that Marthandan has borrowed loan of worth Rs.250 million in the name of villagers.
Mahendran and his colleagues (played by Sriman and Ilavarasu) approach Marthandan to return the money that he had illegally borrowed. When refused, he assures of arresting Marthandan and the very next day, Mahendran and his colleagues are pushed down in shock for the entire bank is burnt down and they are dismissed. Now, Mahendran together with his mates tries to reveal the true color of Marthandan and prove of their innocence.

Bhaskar Oru Rascal
Bhaskar (Arvind Swamy) is a business tycoon and single parent. His father Rangasamy (Nassar) is a retired businessman, and Bhaskar has taken over his businesses. Bhaskar deals with all the situations in his business with rowdyism and has a crude and crass personality. This behavior earns him the name ‘Rascal’. He is a widower and has a son Aakash (Master Raghavan). Aakash and Shivani (Baby Nainika) study in the same school. Shivani’s mother Anu (Amala Paul) is also a single parent. She meets Bhaskar at the school. Shivani admires Bhaskar for his authoritative stance and treats him like a father figure.
