Primarily based on the activities of a self-proclaimed godman, Gurmeet Ram Rahim.Baba Nirala (Bobby Deol) is ruthless and relies on corrupt politicians to gain power while preying on innocent women. Baba, being a conman, hides his true intentions from the public like a pro and fools his devotees by wearing a mask of pretence. When the cops find skeletons and dead bodies buried in the Ashram property, it hints at various mysteries.
The story begins in Goa, where 6 dead bodies are washed ashore. The Goa drug lord Jothi (Ashutosh Rana) is responsible for this. The Police Department of India is unable to capture him for nearly a decade because not a single person has seen him in person as he is constantly on the move and has no permanent aides or accomplices.
Chitti (Mahadevan) is in charge for the drug trafficking in and around Goa. One day, he receives a call from Jothi about a missing drug consignment. Chitti and his men are unable to hunt down the culprit. It is revealed that Shiva (Arya) is the mastermind behind the drug theft and is working for Chitti as his most trusted henchman. Chitti, along with Shiva and his nephew Guru (Harish Uthaman), run an underworld drug empire in Goa.
Prabhu(Prasanna), Ilango(Krishna), Sundar(Karthik), Priya and Indra are the best of friends at college, swearing to never lose touch with one another later in life. They manage to get jobs in the same company but Ilango, was whisked away to his village by his dictatorial father(Vijayan) and forced into marriage with Eeswari(Kanika). He then runs away while the friends assume that he is in Bombay with his new wife. A few years later the remaining four are still friends, working in the same company and even living in one house. Prabhu meets Eeswari on the train and without knowing that she is Ilango’s wife, falls in love with her. When the truth comes out she becomes good friends with the gang while they promise to find Ilango and reunite them.

Surya (Sanjeev) is the son of a local dada (Adithya Menon) and studies at the Chengalpet Matriculation School. His mother, who is separated from her husband, wants him to grow up as a model citizen. Unfortunately, he has more of his father’s genes and gets expelled for beating up a teacher. Surya, who is attached to his mother, gives a promise that he will not take the path to violence again, and is admitted to Lake View School in Ooty, described by its principal (Thalaivasal Vijay) as the “best school in south Asia”. Surya is looked down by his snooty seniors led by Rohit (Rohit Rathod) and his gang. The only person who stands with him is Babloo (Karthik Sabesh), and the principal’s daughter Tanya (Riya Bamniyal), who has a soft corner for him. Under extreme provocation, Surya keeps his cool as he tries to live up to his mother’s expectations. However, he breaks down after Babloo is murdered and goes on a revenge spree. The film ends on a tragic note, as the message of the film is conveyed.

Sri Rama Rajyam movie explains how poet Valmiki, the author of the epic Ramayana narrates the script in general. The movie further showcases the incidents in Lord Rama’s life and how his journey goes on after he saves Sita from Raavana and also highlights the main principle’s of Ramayama and Lord Rama i.e. How An Ideal Son, An Ideal Brother, An Ideal Husband and An Ideal Emperor should be. The film starts with the arrival of Rama and Sita to Ayodhya after vanquishing Ravan in Lanka. Rama is now the king of Ayodhya. Under his rule the people are happy and prosperous. Just when everything seems to be going fine, a comment by a washer man makes Rama to send Sita away into the forest. From here the real story of Sri Rama Rajyam begins. Sita is given shelter by Sage Valmiki. He keeps her identity a secret and looks after her as his own daughter. Sita gives birth to Lava and Kusha. Valmiki imparts knowledge to them and also teaches them how to use weapons (Artha Vidya). They also study Ramayana and Valmiki asks them to preach the story across the length and breadth of Ayodhya. At this juncture, Rama plans to conduct Ashwamedha Yagnam for the welfare of the people.
