Sevagan
Sanjay (Arjun Sarja), a fearless and upright police officer, is transferred to a new city. He lives with his widowed mother (Kavitha) and sister. He also has a half-brother Ashok (Nassar) and stepmother. Ashok works for the corrupted minister Sabapathy (Captain Raju), who is involved in liquor smuggling, procuring, and illegal gambling. One day, a corrupt police officer Sridhar (Sakthivel) tries to rape an innocent girl Anjali (Kushboo). Sanjay arrives on time, saves Anjali, and beats Sridhar. Sanjay later gets married to Anjali. He strongly supports the politician Sathyamoorthy (Charuhasan). Sabapathy decides to target Sanjay’s weak point: his wife Anjali. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Mahanadi
Krishnaswamy (Kamal Haasan) is a widower living happily along with his mother-in-law Saraswathi (S. N. Lakshmi), daughter Kaveri (Mahanadi Shobana) and son Bharani (Mahanadhi Dinesh) in a village near Trichy. Dhanush (Cochin Haneefa), a con from the city, has an eye on Krishna’s prosperity and asks him to join his chit fund business. At first, Krishna is reluctant; however, when a rich friend from a foreign country visits his house, he too wants to be rich like them. Hence he agrees to Dhanush’s proposal and arrives at the city. However, he is unaware of Dhanush’s tricks and when Dhanush swindles away the chit fund money, the blame is put on Krishna, and he lands up in jail. He finds that even his future father-in-law Panjapakesan (Poornam Viswanathan) is also in jail for the same reason, whose daughter is Yamuna (Sukanya), working as a nurse. He advises Krishna not to be angry if the jailor is cruel, as he might be released sooner if he is submissive in the jail. During Krishna’s tenure in jail, Yamuna takes care of his family. Due to unavoidable situations, his mother-in-law dies and his children go missing. Krishna learns this after coming out from jail suffering unnecessary hardships.

Nayakan
An anti-government union leader’s only son Sakthivel is arrested by the police to find his whereabouts. They trick Sakthivel into believing them as his well-wishers and release him. When Sakthivel meets his father, the police kill the latter. Feeling betrayed, Sakthivel stabs the police inspector and runs away to Bombay, where he is raised by Hussain, a kind-hearted smuggler living in the Dharavi slums.
One day, when Hussain is ill, Sakthivel, now a young man, decides to carry out the smuggling activity on behalf of Hussain. His demand for a bigger commission from the smugglers makes them furious and they involve a police inspector Kelkar to arrest Hussain and kill him in jail. When they close the case as suicide, Sakthivel is angered knowing the truth and murders Kelkar. He later takes care of Kelkar’s family which consists of his wife and a mentally challenged son Ajit. Kelkar’s wife knew that her husband’s immorality resulted in his death.

Arinthum Ariyamalum
Brahmin boy Satya (Navdeep) comes from Nagercoil to Chennai to join an engineering college. His problems begin when he encounters his father, the dreaded don Adhi Narayanan (Prakash Raj), and Adhi’s adopted son Kutty (Arya). Satya’s girlfriend Sandhya (Sameksha) is wounded in a shootout between Adhi’s gang and his rivals. Satya, on the prodding of ACP Thiagarajan (Adithya Menon), is all set to identify Kutty as the culprit. Intimidated and threatened by the gang and in a state of confusion, Satya is shocked when Adhi and Kutty make friendly overtures to him. Satya’s life takes a comical and drastic turn.

Mr. Romeo
Romeo lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bangalore, India, along with his widowed mother. He had received considerable assistance and encouragement from Raj Mohan to dance and sing, and as a result gets very popular with young women. He meets and is attracted to Madhu, who is also his fan. His mother meets with Madhu’s grandfather and both arrange their wedding. Then Romeo finds out that Raj Mohan has been stealing body parts, especially kidneys, from patients in the Satya Moorthy Hospital, and then getting them killed via bus accidents. He meets with Raj and warns him that he is going to expose him publicly. Before he could that Romeo is shot, taken by ambulance, and thrown off of a cliff. His friend, Prakash, is blamed for this, is arrested, tried in Court, found guilty, and sentenced to life imprisonment. But Romeo survives, is looked after by tribal people, and several months later returns to Bangalore to expose Raj – only to find a look-alike, a Chandaal (Hindu Undertaker) named Badshah, from Bombay, has taken over his life, identity, love, and is residing in his very own home!

Tik Tik Tik
Sherley (Sarika) is a model who returns to Chennai after a modeling stint abroad. She received by the modeling agency and is soon drugged and operated upon. Her dead body is soon found.
Dileep (Kamal Haasan) is a photographer working for a newspaper run by Lakshmi Narayanan (Thengai Srinivasan). He is a photographer in a beauty pageant run by a rich industrialist, Oberoi (Shamasundar L. Asrani), which was won by Sharadha, Swapna and Radha (Madhavi, Radha and Swapna). He becomes professionally involved with Radha and Swapna while romantically involved with Sharadha. Soon Swapna’s dead body turns up and he becomes the main suspect in the murder investigation and is on the run from police. As his face is plastered in wanted ads all over the city and police are watching Sharadha’s house, he goes to meet Radha.
Radha, who always considered Dileep as her brother as he was always nice to her, helps him and lets him stay in her apartment. The next morning, when Dileep wakes up and turn on the tap, the water is bloody red and he hears screaming coming from the apartment water tank. He goes to investigate when a group of people are gathered around the tank and is shocked to find Radha’s bloody body inside the tank. Soon people recognize him from the wanted ad and mistakenly think that he murdered Radha. He is once again on the run from police for the murders.
He starts to investigate the murders and deduce that the only thing the two girls had in common, apart from him, was the modeling agency. When he secretively meets up with Sharadha, he finds a small incision on her body. Remembering that the other two girls had the same incision, he questions her. Although she doesn’t remember how she got it, she remembers that she didn’t have one before she left on a photo shoot abroad for the agency. She also finds it strange that she was unconscious for a few hours during the shoot but cannot remember what happened.
They eventually find out that Oberoi, has a nefarious business through his modeling agency. He drugs the models during the photo shoot abroad, operates them and smuggles diamonds into India using their bodies. When the models return to India, they again drug the model and take it out and kill the girl.
Dileep gets captured by Oberoi’s goons but with the help of his editor and his girlfriend, he has already got the truth out. Before Oberoi can kill Dileep, they hear the police siren coming towards him. Oberoi, an obsessive diamond collector, rather than get caught and go to prison, eats his own diamonds and commits suicide.

Pannam Pathinonnum Seyum
