Prabha (Aadhi) is the eldest son of his family who does nothing but spend all his time with his friends. He is chided by his father (Jayaprakash) for that. Being a volleyball player comes to his rescue as he finds a part-time job as a volleyball coach in a women’s college. His younger brother works in a TV channel, and Prabha is often compared to him by the family, which incurs his wrath. The siblings cross swords with each other. One day, the younger brother is killed, and the blame falls on Prabha. He is on the run and soon joins a goonda working as a henchman to an influential politician (Mahadevan). Prabha goes on a killing spree, killing one by one in the gang. Finally, a flashback reveals that they were the reason for his brother’s death.
Sivaji Rao, a Hyderabad based officer is posted in Mumbai to handle a corrupted cop called Pansari. He successfully manages to arrest Pansari but he soon makes bail and makes it his mission to make Sivaji pay for sending him to jail.
Aadhavan (Suriya) is a professional assassin working with his father Ibrahim Rowther (Sayaji Shinde) and brother Tharani (Anand Babu). Doctor Abdul Kulkarni(Rahul Dev) hires Aadhavan to kill prominent Judge Subramaniam (Murali), since he is handling the inquiry and verdict on Abdul’s child kidnapping, murder and organ trafficking cases in Kolkata.
Raghu (Ravi Krishna) is a happy-go-lucky youngster who is not serious about studies or life. He has a great time in college playing pranks with fellow students. His dad (M. S. Bhaskar) dotes on him and so do his close friends (Suman Setty & gang). A new girl Priyanka (Tamannaah) joins his class, and she is the sister of Pughazhenthy (Atul Kulkarni), a powerful gangster-turned-minister. Priyanka is born with the silver spoon, and the college gets a face lift as her classroom is fitted with an AC, and the canteen gets a hip look.
Gautham (Bharath), a college dropout and good-for-nothing guy, falls in love with Narmada (Genelia D’Souza), the daughter of a local don Sakthivel (Radha Ravi). She lives in a hostel after learning that her father is a criminal who now wants her to marry his partner Sardar’s (Brahmaji) brother. So the two lovers elope to Mumbai, and they are soon tracked and separated. Finally, Gautham, along with his friends, fights against all odds to win back Narmada.
A City based thriller that travels on the Hyperlink plot connecting the four youngsters from the different walks of lives. Maanagaram will focalize upon Chennai city as one of the major characters in this film, where the backdrops would indeed become a prominent ingredient of this tale.
