Speedunnodu is a remake of the Tamil hit film – Sundarapandian. The film is a romantic comedy about a young man and the girl he is trying to woo for his friend.

Jayam
The story is centered in a village where the parents of first cousins Sujatha (Sadha) and Raghu (Gopichand) decide that they will be married to each other when they become adults. As a child, Sujatha’s uncle gives her anklets, which she wears as she grows up. As they grow older, Raghu is caught smuggling money from his house. At school, Raghu beats up a kid for talking to Sujatha. They quarrel, and Raghu’s family leaves for another village. Sujatha grows to be an attractive college student, while Raghu becomes a good-for-nothing character. On her way to college, Sujatha meets Ravi (Jayam Ravi), a poor, charming, and enthusiastic young man. He asks her to wear her anklets to college again, and soon after their quarrels, they fall in love. Meanwhile, Raghu’s parents (Nizhalgal Ravi and Nalini), hoping that he will become a responsible person after marriage, decide to carry out his marriage with Sujatha. The story takes a turn when Sujatha’s parents (Rajeev and Pragathi) learn about her love affair with Ravi. On the day of her marriage, Sujatha elopes with Ravi, and the action heats up as they are chased by Raghu and his thugs. Finally, Raghu is defeated in a face-to-face combat with Ravi, and Ravi marries Sujatha.

Kannula Kaasa Kattappa
The filmmaking lacks the zaniness that such a screwball premise requires and the TV serial-like visuals take some time getting used to.

Raja Kumarudu
Raj Kumar (Mahesh Babu) goes on holiday in Khandala and stays with his uncle Dhananjay (Prakash Raj). He comes across Rani (Preity Zinta) and falls for her. However, he ends up teasing her and she begins to despise him. She is determined to avoid him, but he won’t leave her alone. Raj Kumar saves Rani from some thugs, and she is impressed by his heroism. After spending some time together, she begins to like him and eventually love him.
Unfortunately his uncle has made other plans for him: He reveals the past of the hero’s parents and his family. He mentions the challenge that he made with his in-laws to get the hero married to his daughter. Complying to this, the hero informs the heroine that their relationship needs to end there.
Going with his uncle to the village for his uncle’s daughter, to his joy he sees that it’s none other than Rani.

Eththan
Sathyamurthy (Vimal) is the son of a schoolteacher DK (Jayaprakash) in Kumbakonam. Sathya is a happy-go-lucky youngster who yearns to do business. To achieve his ‘mission’, he borrows money from all quarters and is almost drowned in debts. Even as his father advises him to start leading life in a right manner, enters Selvi (Sanusha), a student. Sathya gets acquainted to Selvi, and his life takes a turn. Meanwhile, Selvi is in trouble because her uncle Pandiyan (Sarvajit), a rowdy, wants her to marry him. This proposal was ignored by Selvi, and she hated Pandiyan because he killed her father (Santhana Bharathi). One day while goofing around with Sathya, Selvi loses the necklace Pandiyan had given her. Sathya and Selvi escape to Chennai, but Pandiyan and a corrupt inspector come and trouble them. Sathya switches on the police’s cordless phone, through which an Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sampath Raj) comes to know about Pandiyan and arrests him. The film ends with Sathya opening a cable TV station and becoming successful.

Kandaen
Vasant’s grandfather sets a condition that he must get married in 30 days. Soon, Vansant falls in love with Narmada and to win her heart, he pretends to be blind.

Padayappa
Padayappa is a mechanical engineer who returns to his village from Chennai after three years to attend his sister’s wedding. Padayappa’s family have been the richest landlords of their village and Chieftains for their region. Padayappa’s great grandfather had decreed all Hindu marriages in their region must take place in the Murugan temple, after the chieftain has verbally confirmed the consent from bride and groom. This tradition has been followed for 100 years and now Padayappa’s father is the chieftain. Padayappa’s younger sister is engaged to their maternal cousin Suryaprakash. During his stay, he comes across Vasundhara, and falls in love with her. However, shyness and fear of Neelambari, her landlady, prevents Vasundhara from initially expressing her feelings. Additionally, Neelambari is Suryaprakash’s spoilt US-returned sister who also loves Padayappa.

Naaigal Jaakirathai
A gang has kidnapped a girl and several police officers, including Karthik (Sibiraj), who is attempting to rescue her. During a shootout, one man from the gang and a police officer Arul (Raghav Umasrinivasan), who is a good friend of Karthik, are killed, while Karthik gets injured. He is put out of action and suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder.
Subramani (Idoh) is a trained military dog who has the potential to nab culprits and to decipher a crime scene. After its owner, an army officer, is shot dead, Subramani is returned to the officer’s father in Coimbatore, who is a neighbor of Karthik. The neighbor leaves the town and requests Karthik to provide shelter to Subramani during his absence. Karthik denies the request but provides shelter after seeing Subramani being troubled the small kids in the neighborhood. Karthik learns about Subramani and becomes good friends with it.
