Padikathavan
Rajasekhar (Sivaji Ganesan) is the loving elder stepbrother of Rajendran (Rajinikanth) and Ramu (Vijaybabu). After his marriage, his wife (Vadivukkarasi) sends his brothers out when he goes to Chennai. Rajendran, the older of the two, toils and becomes a taxi driver to educate and bring up his brother, but his brother strays and gets mixed up with some wrong-doers. He marries a girl Manju (Ramya Krishnan) from a rich family. The girl’s uncle (Jaishankar), is a smuggler who sells drugs using his older brother’s lorries. Jaishankar later kills his brother and puts the blame on Rajendran. Rajasekhar, the presiding judge, realizes that Rajendran is his long-lost brother and returns as a lawyer to save him.

Mosakutty
Mosakutty an orphan and uneducated involves himself in highway robbery along with his close aide Sendru. A local bigwig Virumandi misuses Mosakutty right from his young age for his personal gains and takes away the booty and pay the latter only pittance. Meanwhile, a certain unexpected incident leads Kayal, the only daughter of Virumandi who is a student of a local college fall for Mosakutty. However, as expected this didn’t go well with Virumandi who tries to kill Mosakutty through his henchmen. But he survives and when he returns to the village, he could not find Kayal at her place. The rest is whether Mosakutty succeeds in his search for his lover or not.

Kaakkai Siraginile
Vellaisamy (Parthiban) is an orphan who was brought up by a Brahmin couple Sambasiva Iyer (K.Vishwanath) and Savithri (Lakshmi). Vellaisamy is very loyal and attached to the old couple. They also look after Vellaisamy as their own son. Gayatri (Preetha Vijayakumar) is the only daughter of Sambasiva Iyer and Savithri who returns from the city after completing her education. Vellaisamy is very much attached to Gayatri also and he looks after her as a kid. Kanmani (Manasa) is a local worker who develops affection over Vellaisamy impressed by his good nature. Suddenly, Savithri passes away due to cardiac arrest. Sambasiva Iyer is terribly shocked after his wife’s death and Vellaisamy takes care of Iyer. Meanwhile, the villagers talk ill about the relationship between Vellaisamy and Gayatri. At one instant, even Iyer gets angry hearing on the comments made by the public. Later, Iyer understands the pure bonding shared between Vellaisamy and Gayatri. He feels bad for doubting them and he also passes away suddenly. Gayatri is left alone following her parents’ death and Vellaisamy decides to take care of her until she gets married. Vellaisamy takes the responsibility of getting married Gayatri to the person she likes. He approaches Visu, a judge with a marriage proposal between Gayatri and Visu’s son. Visu is also interested in the proposal as he is surprised to see a person who takes all the effort to get someone married who is not related to him. But on the day of marriage, a few people come to the wedding hall and make some bad comments about Vellaisamy and Gayatri.

Raatchasan
The film opens with the discovery of a corpse of a teenage girl who was brutally murdered.
Arun Kumar (Vishnu Vishal) is an aspiring filmmaker who wants to make a movie on psychopaths. After being rejected many times and due to pressure from his family, he decides to give up his dreams and become a sub-inspector with the help of his brother-in-law Doss (Ramdoss), a police officer himself. He moves to Chennai to stay with his sister Kokila (Vinodhini Vaidyanathan), Doss, and their daughter Ammu (Abhirami). Ammu gets into trouble when she makes Arun sign like her father in her report card. Her class teacher figures this out and thinks she signed it herself. He meets and befriends Ammu’s teacher Viji (Amala Paul) and her niece Kayal (Baby Monica).

Swarnamukhi
Vanaja (Fathima Babu) is full of gratitude when Varadarajan (Manivannan), a scheming politician, generously helps her daughter Swarnamukhi (Devayani), perform her arangetram in a local temple, but she does not know the man she is being grateful to and is forced to become his mistress to safeguard her daughter’s future.
Akash (Prakash Raj), a Voltas representative, falls in love with Swarnamukhi and proposes marriage. She tries to keep him at arm’s length by revealing her love affair with Pandian (Parthiban), who had left her at the altar. When Akash is still willing, they decide to get married but then Pandian turns up. In the end, however, Swarnamukhi is triumphant.

Madhubana Kadai
Madhubaanakadai (Liquor Shop) is a socio-economic and political satire movie. The movie revolves around a liquor shop on the day before Gandhi Jayanthi i.e., October 1st. The movie travels on numerous characters from school boys to old men, artists to money lenders, eunuchs, scavengers to rich persons. The movie also brings out social issues that are intertwined around the business of marketing and selling of Indian Manufactured Foreign Liquors that is governed by State Government.

Thanga Magan
Thamizh’s love that develops gradually, damaging relationship with his cousin in the process, gets torn around the lovers’ conflicting ideas of where his family fits in their nucleus of life. The lover gets married to the estranged cousin, Thamizh gets a wife he considers he is blessed to have had and just when things appear to be settling down, a devastating turn of events shakes his family apart. In his quest for reason, he learns his cousin had something to do with it and teaches the ones involved a ‘costly’ lesson.

Jore
Sabapathy (Sathyaraj) is a widower who owns a cinema theater and school. He treats his son Sakthi (Sibiraj) like his friend. At college, Sakthi falls in love with Shalini (Gajala), the daughter of a corrupt politician Lingam (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Afterwards, Lingam’s son Vijay (Ramana) clashes against Sakthi at the college election. Despite having support from his father, Vijay loses the election. Lingam then enters into the conflict. In the end, Sakthi kills Lingam and Vijay.

Thanga Surangam
Shivaji , a CID officer is on a mission to bust a gang that is flooding the market with fake gold bars. The gang which had abducted a brilliant scientist who is an expert in alchemy had not been getting his cooperation to perfect the fake gold bars. The scientist daughter , Bharathi unaware that her father is a captive with the gangsters is leading a happy , carefree life with the fat purse sent every month by the gang , supposedly from her father. Shivaji , during his investigation first suspects Bharathi to be part of the gang, but later finds out the truth and falls in love with her. But the gang abducts Bharathi also to force her father to cooperate. Shivaji trails the leads and lands in the gangster’s den. There is a twist. His mother reveals that the leader of the gang is none other than his own father who deserted the family when Shivaji was a kid. Torn between duty to the country and his love for his mother, he decides to confront the gangster unarmed and gets shot by his father. Luckily he survives and the father repents and surrenders to the police. The scientist is released and Shivaji marries Bharathi.
