ACP Abhishek Bhargav (SRK), in search of killers of his buddy DCP Bharath (Vivek Oberoi), comes from Patna to Bengaluru to uncover political links to an organ trade mafia.
The film revolves around Kathavarayan (Karan), who sells illicit arrack in Hogenakkal. Though he is involved in arrack trade, he is a man with golden heart. Malathy (Vidisha), a student, comes to the village as part of her NSS project. She vows to end the arrack menace in the village and takes efforts to arrest Kathavarayan. Thanks to her efforts, Kathavarayan gets arrested and lodged in prison in Chennai.
Call it fate, Malathy is arrested for no fault of her in Chennai. Her efforts to expose drug-pedlers in Chennai backfires. They hatch a conspiracy and Malathy falls a prey to it. She gets arrested for possessing drugs and lands in prison.
When Sanga and her husband, part of a tribe living around the province of Mahismathi, save a drowning infant, little do they know the background of the infant or what the future holds for him. The film is about a bad cop Mithran (Kishore), who utilizes the useless and violent youngster to indulge in conniving activities only to get his pockets overwhelmed with profit. Vinoth (Magesh Kumar) is his right pick as he heeds for his orders and he’s one such cruel guy, who beats his mother black and blue for money. Saranya enacts his mother’s role and she completely possesses the qualities of yesteryear mother in Tamil cinema. Meanwhile, he falls in love with Nivedha (Udhayathara) and even she falls for him. When things are going finer, his life turns topsy-turvy when his mother passes away. He starts feeling a lot missing her. Meanwhile Mithran and Vinoth tend to lock horns with each other with a shockingly repellent climax.
Viswa (Dinesh) is a good for nothing guy who lives in a police colony and is son of an honest constable (Rajesh). It follows the conflict between a disciplinarian father and his wayward son. One day the constable dies in line of duty and the son gets his father’s job. The rest of the story is how Viswa becomes from a reluctant cop to a disciplined guy, who takes revenge against those who murdered his father.
