Venghai
Veera Pandi (Rajkiran) is a rich and powerful man in Pandiapuram in the Sivagangai district. Selvam (Dhanush) is his son. Rajalingam (Prakash Raj) is the local MLA who wants to cheat Pandi. One day, Pandi sends Selvam to Trichy. Selvam meets his childhood friend Radhika (Tamannaah). He proposes to her, but she tells him that she needs time to think about it. Meanwhile, Pandi gets to know about Rajalingam’s true identity and prevents him from involving in corruption. Rajalingam decides to kill Selvam in revenge. Soon, Rajalingam becomes a minister. Selvam gets back to Pandiapuram to safeguard his family from Rajalingam. Radhika requests Selvam to stay away from his family so they can lead a peaceful life. Selvam ditches Radhika, saying that his family is more important to him than anything else in the world. Later, Radhika realizes her mistake and apologizes to Selvam, and both of them get reunited. Rajalingam plans to kill Pandi, knowing about his train journey, but Selvam comes to the rescue. Suddenly, Pandi realizes he drank poisoned coffee and is rushed to the hospital, where his life is saved. Selvam is shocked to know that Radhika poisoned Pandi’s coffee. Selvam rushes to Radhika’s home, where her mother Padmavathi (Sudha Chandran) and grandfather state that Pandi killed Radhika’s father (Nizhalgal Ravi) years ago, and they were waiting for an opportunity to exact revenge. Pandi comes to Radhika’s home and tells a flashback about the true incident behind the murder of Radhika’s father and clarifies that it was not him who killed her father. The next day, Radhika’s family apologizes to Pandi and informs that they are leaving for another town. Pandi and his wife Thangam (Urvasi) forgive Radhika’s mistake and urge Selvam to accept Radhika, which he does. Selvam and Radhika get united. Finally, Selvam and his friends kill Rajalingam.

Sidda Reddy (Jaya Prakash Reddy) is a powerful mafia leader whose right hand is Devudu (Gopichand). Devudu has a lover called Malli (Raasi). Reddy, who also likes Malli, takes her to the bed, which is not liked by Devudu. In the process, Devudu kills Reddy and becomes the leader of the mafia gang. Venkateswarlu (Ranganath) is a fire officer. In an incident, Devudu sets a marketplace on fire and Venkateswarlu rescues it with his firefighting, and at the same time, Venkateswarlu slaps Devudu, as he continues throwing kerosene at the marketplace. Devudu holds a grudge against Venkateswarlu and sends him to jail on a framed charge of murder. Seetaram (Mahesh Babu), Venkateswarlu’s son, tries to rescue his father from the jaws of police. But in the process, everybody starts asking him for money to do the work. At the end of the day, the police officer kills Venkateswarlu. The rest of the story is about how Seetaram’s mother (Talluri Rameswari) takes revenge on the people responsible for the death of her husband with the help of her son Seetaram. The criminals involved in the crime of his father’s death are killed one after the other by the mother and son in a planned and scientific manner. This film tells about an innocent boy, who, along with his mother undergoes injustice and also loses his father in this process. The mother in this situation plays the role of a trainer and guide to her son, making him strong physically and emotionally, to fight back.

Madras
Kaali (Karthi) is an impulsive and short-tempered working class man who works in an IT company and enjoys playing football during his free time. His best friend is Anbu (Kalaiyarasan), who is a young political aspirant. They along with their gang live in the dilapidated flats of the housing board in Vyasarpadi, North Chennai. In a long-standing bloody feud, two factions of a political party have been laying claim to a wall on which they can paint the portraits of their respective political leaders. Anbu, under the local leader of one of the opposing parties, Maari (Charles Vinoth), is determined to claim that wall for their own party. The other party chief is Kannan (Poster Nandakumar) and his son Perumal (Mime Gopi) who are hell bent in making sure that their opponents efforts go in vain. The painting of Kannan’s father’s face has been on the wall for two decades, since the start of the feud. The two parties and their supporters get into frequent clashes and scrapes. In the meantime, Kaali falls in love with Kalaiarasi (Catherine Tresa), and she too reciprocates his feelings.

Chandralekha (Srividya), a grieving mother, asks an ex-army man David Kumar (C. Arunpandian) to rescue her son Gunasekaran (Prabhakaran), who is locked up in a military prison. But at the same time, the hideous criminal P. K. Roy (Nassar) appoints the fugitive Pratap (Ramki) to kidnap Gunasekharan from the prison. Both leave for their missions respectively, not knowing what surrender holds in his past and the fugitive takes this personal.
