Vanavarayan (Krishna Kulasekaran) and Vallavarayan (Ma Ka Pa Anand) are two brothers and carefree youngsters. One day, Vanavarayan meets Anjali (Monal Gajjar) in a marriage and falls in love with her. In the beginning, she rejects him. Vanavarayan follows her, and she accepts his love. Their love journey goes well, until one day when they travel to Pazhani. Anjali with her lover is seen by her drunkard uncle. After this incident, Anjali’s family arranges her marriage with a wealthy man Suresh (Santhanam). Anjali breaks down and secretly meets Vanavarayan, but the family mistakes them as they are running away. Anjali’s brother (S. P. B. Charan) beats Vanavarayan. On hearing this incident, Vallavarayan, in a drunken state, pulls Anjali’s father (Jayaprakash) from her house, beats him, and tears his clothes before the public. This makes Anjali hate Vanavarayan and insists he throw away his relation with Vallavarayan, then only she will marry him. Vanavarayan says that his brother is important to him than her and starts to ignore her. Vallavarayan finds that Vanavarayan is unable to forget Anjali, so he plans to reunite Vanavarayan with Anjali, but all plans go in vain. How Vanavarayan unites the pair and if Vanavarayan sacrifices his relation with his brother for his love for Anjali is the rest of the story.

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry decides that Porpandhal no longer needs a police station and when they are about to issue transfer orders to all the four cops, our protagonists think of a plan and try their luck to get some serious cases in the village. To their misfortune, the role model village gets ruined and turns into an insecure place to live. What happens next?

The story opens in the British India reign, where a British man and porter are trying to catch a ferry. On the way, however, one of the suitcases being carried by the porter falls and opens, revealing many diamonds. The porter steals some of the diamonds and sends the gentleman on his way. He hides these diamonds in a trunk, which he buries near a temple in the Gulaebaghavali village. The story then shifts to 2018, where Badri (Prabhu Deva) and his boss Nambi (Mansoor Ali Khan) perform petty thefts. While at a pub, Badri spots Viji (Hansika Motwani) and falls for her. Soon, Badri unknowingly accepts to steal a priceless statue from the temple at Gulaebagavali and runs into Viji. The duo escapes from the villagers. With some help from Munish (Ramdoss) and Maasha (Revathi), they steal the trunk, which reveals a skeleton. After a lot of confusion, the trunk is delivered, where it is revealed that the diamonds are stored in the skeleton. The police comes to the spot and finds that the diamonds were very valuable. After they escape from the police, it is revealed that during the fight, a hand of the skeleton fell in Maasha’s car. On finding this out and how Maasha tried to deceive the other three, the trio chases her. A parallel storyline involves Mayilvaganam (Sathyan) and a don Annachi (Rajendran), which culminates in the climax.

The idea is to convey ‘unfortunate’ or ‘bad’ news to people. In the process they stop the marriage of a young girl who is the sister of Arjun’s girlfriend Anjali (Aditi Chengappa). When Anjali comes to know about Arjun and his profession, she hates him and there comes an ego clash between Arjun and Karnan as well. Can Arjun solve all the complex issues and lead a happy life?

The producer who runs a Fishing export business by the shores of North Madras has one condition though – the film should star his daughter Maha as the female lead. Her gorgeous looks convince Chandran & his team initially to proceed with scripting. But only later do they realize their folly.

The movie begins with the marriage of John (Arya) and Regina (Nayantara) at a church. The marriage is an arranged one, to which both have consented reluctantly to make their parents happy. After the marriage they live together as strangers in an apartment, where the neighbors are upset with John who comes home drunk every night, which he does deliberately to annoy Regina. Eventually, Regina applies for a transfer to Australia to stay away from John.
