Siva (R. Madhavan) is based out of Srirangam and he comes to Chennai to join a college. He stays with his sister (Anu Hasan) and her husband (Raghuvaran). Siva does not like his brother-in-law and never talks to him, despite several attempts made by his sister to convince both.
Siva meets Priya (Meera Jasmine) during a bus journey, and it is love at first sight for him. He again meets her on a few more occasions and proposes his love, but she warns him to stop following her despite liking him. Siva understands that Priya’s brother Bhaskar (Atul Kulkarni) is a local goon, and he attacks anyone who follows his sister.

Sekar looks for Anjali, eventually finding the place where she was sold, and kills a woman working in the slavery business. Meanwhile, Anjali is injured by slave traders as she is thrown from a car when the drivers learn of the woman’s murder by Sekar. While hospitalized, Anjali is killed by her father who fears unwanted media attention. Sekar reaches the hospital and learns about the death of Anjali.

Madhava (Madhavan) is a doctor, and a single appearance has made him the heartthrob of thousands of girls. Madhava and Chella’s wedding and Simi and Azhagu’s wedding are on the same date. Azhagu then marries his cousin due to his father’s greed for wealth. Chella’s parents find out about Madhava’s past and call off the wedding. In the end, Madhava and Simi remarry. Chella marries Kumaran (Vivek), Madhava’s colleague, who was interested in her ever since he became Madhava’s understudy in the hospital.

Maalya accepts the position, Vidyapati accepts the invitation but humiliates her even more and she has him imprisoned. Little do these three know that their live have seen improvements mainly due to Sage Narad’s mischievous prompting of Devi Maas’ Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati, in a bid to find out who is more powerful of these three. These three mortals must now enter into a conflict and each must do their best to prove whether Knowledge (Saraswati), Wealth (Lakshmi), or Strength (Parvati) reigns supreme.
