
Kathavarayan
The film revolves around Kathavarayan (Karan), who sells illicit arrack in Hogenakkal. Though he is involved in arrack trade, he is a man with golden heart. Malathy (Vidisha), a student, comes to the village as part of her NSS project. She vows to end the arrack menace in the village and takes efforts to arrest Kathavarayan. Thanks to her efforts, Kathavarayan gets arrested and lodged in prison in Chennai.
Call it fate, Malathy is arrested for no fault of her in Chennai. Her efforts to expose drug-pedlers in Chennai backfires. They hatch a conspiracy and Malathy falls a prey to it. She gets arrested for possessing drugs and lands in prison.

Vanamagan
Kavya and her friends plan to celebrate their New Year in Andaman. There they behave too notorious. While escaping from police for their deeds, Kavya hits a tribal named Jara with her car. Jara is heavily injured in the head. Kavya decides to save him by giving better treatment, so she brings him to Chennai. At first, there were too many misunderstands between them as Jara doesn’t know her language. After some time, she starts to train him, and a beautiful bond starts between them, in spite of not knowing their languages. Vicky, Kavya’s friend, tries to force on her, who is later saved by Vaasi (Jara). Vicky’s father is a billionaire who wants to punish Jara. Kavya tries to help Jara, but he is taken away to Andaman. Kavya too reaches Andaman. Rajashekar too goes to Andaman in search of Kavya, but she says she wants to stay with the tribe as she loves Jara and his way of living rather than city life. Jara and Kavya fall in love, and Rajashekar leaves them without punishing.

Business Man
Mumbai Police commissioner Ajay Bhardwaj announces the end of the “Mafia Raj” in the city, to try to bring peace to the city’s streets. However, a ruthless south Indian named Vijay Surya comes to the city, aspiring to be the most powerful Mafia Don there. Staying in Dharavi with his friend, he is introduced to a local politician Laalu, who is in trouble and offers him help. He recruits a portion of the gangsters and criminals living in Mumbai led by Naseer to work under him. Surya’s henchman Shakeel manages to kill a witness of Laalu’s crimes in the jail where he is kept in, winning Laalu’s friendship.

Kaalai
Young Jeeva (Silambarasan) is the grandson of Seema of Theni. When she was five years old, she kills five persons and goes to jail. She comes out of prison turning nastier than before. She is now a hard-core ‘dada’ and she is feared as well as revered by people in her place, Theni, where she is engaged in all activities which the law forbids. The local police throw up their hands. A police officer, also named Jeeva (Lal), comes down heavily on Seema with all his might and cunningness and finally burns her alive. Meanwhile, a rowdy, also named Jeeva, becomes a thorn in the flesh of police officer Jeeva and he is after his daughter Vedika, who loves Seema’s grandson, a tough guy in the college. While Vedika wants to keep the rowdy off her with the help of Seema’s grandson, he wants to take revenge on her father for killing his grandmother. How he fulfils his task is the crux of the movie.

State of Siege: Temple Attack
Inspired by true events, the film narrates the heroic tale of NSG commandos, who step in to save innocent people when terrorists attack a temple in Gujarat.

Maaran
Maaran (Sathyaraj) is a clerk in the district collector’s office. His life centres around his loving wife (Seetha), his son (Raghuvannan), and his daughter (Preethi Varma). Soft-spoken, and a Gandhian to the hilt, Maaran does not stand by any smear on the Mahatma’s name. Being a staunch patriot, he had even named his son Sudhandhiram.

Bharat Ennum Naan
Bharat Ram (Mahesh Babu), a brilliant but uncertain student with an unquenchable thrist for knowledge, graduates with his 5th degree from Oxford. At his uncle’s (Saakshi Sivaa) house, Bharat comes to learn that his father, Chief Minister of (at the time undivided) Andhra Pradesh Raghava Raju (R. Sarathkumar), was hospitalised and died from a stroke. On a flight to his familial home in Hyderabad, Bharat reminisces about his past.
As a child, Bharat is scolded by his mother (Aamani) for eating ice cream against medical advice, and he promises her he won’t eat it again. Raghava Raju, busy with a new political party (the Navodayam Party) that he and his friend Varadarajulu (Prakash Raj) formed, is shown to be too busy to spend time with his family. After Bharat is found to have eaten ice cream again, his mother reminds him on the importance of promises. The very next day, Bharat finds that she has died in her sleep, causing his father to stay at home to take care of Bharat. Soon after her death, Varadarajulu points out to Raghava Raju that he has to get back outside to prepare for the coming elections and suggests that he remarry to find a new mother for Bharat. However, Bharat is not close to his stepmother (Sithara) and instead spends time at his friend Subash’s house. After Subash’s parents get jobs in London, Bharat wants to come with them. At first his father hesitates, but soon agrees to let them study together.

Kodiveeran
The film deals with a local Hindu priest who unleashes the beast inside of him for protecting his family.
