Shah Rukh Khan and Sharad Kapoor are the leaders of the two rival gangs. Aishwarya Rai is Shah Rukh Khan’s twin sister. Shah Rukh is in love with Priya Gill. Chandrachur Singh is Sharad Kapoor’s younger brother who studies in a catering college in Bombay. He comes to Goa to visit his brother and plans to go back and start a restaurant there. He sees Aishwarya and falls in love with her. Chandrachur gives up the idea of going back to Bombay and opens a bakery in Goa. When Shah Rukh comes to know about the romance between Aishwarya and Chandrachur, the fight between the gang turns more violent. How the conflict is resolved is the rest of the story.

The movie revolves around Easwaran alias E (Jiiva), an orphan brought up in the musty, teeming slums of Chennai by an old woman. For him, money is the thing in life. He comes across Jothy (Nayantara), a bar dancer who settles down in the same locality. After a few encounters, they get acquainted with each other. E’s simple ways attract Jothy. Coming to know of E’s past, Jothy tries desperately to correct his ways and set him on the right path. Meanwhile, Dr. Ramakrishnan (Ashish Vidyarthi) takes up the task of testing a medicine devised by a foreign company, which may come handy in killing people in thousands, especially during times of war. Ramakrishnan chooses Jothy’s sister and E’s grandmother as specimens for the test. He cashes in on the ignorance to slum dwellers. Things take a turn when E rescues Ramakrishnan from a murder bid by Nellai Mani (Pasupathy). A sequence of events brings Mani and E together. Without knowing Mani’s motive, E hides him in a secret place and decides to hand him over to Ramakrishnan for a huge sum. Slowly, E gets attracted by Mani’s good ways. Through him, E comes to know of Ramakrishnan’s ulterior motives. Mani, a revolutionary fighting for a cause, tries to bring about a change in E’s heart. Succeeding in his attempt, Mani lays down his life, leaving E to complete his task. The rest is all about how E puts an end to Ramakrishnan and his evil ways.

Manickam romances rich kid Nagma, whose father is a criminal, and knows a dirty secret about his would-be son-in-law. She meets Sundhar C. and falls in love. Sundhar C. also falls in love with Anjali and reveals his past to her. Sundar C. was a highly accomplished district collector and was transferred to Tanjore. He gets himself in a cat-and-mouse chase with local goon Naachiyaar. Naachiyaar’s son kidnaps Sundhar C.’s friend’s sister who was engaged to another man

Yaman
As the film begins, Arivudai Nambi (Vijay Antony) is killed by his rivals, who fear their position would be threatened if he were to make it big in politics. Decades later, his son Tamilarasan (Vijay Antony) is accidentally drawn into the murky world of behind-the-screens politicking when he is jailed due to admitting to have hit someone on the road. Two gangster-type baddies with political backing become his enemies, and this in turn brings him closer to Karunakaran (Thiagarajan), a political heavyweight who has his own ambitions. A minister sees Tamilarasan as an enemy because he sees in him Nambi, whom he had conspired to murder. Machinations and counter-machinations grow with the growing political ambitions of Tamilarasan, whose rivals won’t let him and his friend Anjana (Miya) live in peace. Tamilarasan boldly faces all this in his game of one-upmanship and realizes his dream of growing big in politics.
