
Jay Jay
Jagan (R. Madhavan) and Jamuna (Amogha) meet in a shopping mall in Chennai. They like each other and spend a day chatting in the coffee shop. Jamuna, a believer in destiny, writes down her address and phone number on a Rs.100 note and makes the payment at the cafe declaring that if the note comes back to Jagan, then it means that he was destined to meet her. He tries hard to trace the note, but in vain. Jamuna goes back to Kolkata. Meanwhile, Seema (Pooja), who was rescued by Madhavan from some thugs, has a crush on him. Jagan, unable to find Jamuna, agrees to marry Seema. Finally, Jagan manages to get Jamuna’s address on the eve of her wedding and unites with her.

Kanne Kalaimaane
Set in a small village in rural Tamil Nadu, Kanne Kalaimane follows the life and times of a rich farmer named Kamala Kannan, and chronicles the changes in this world following the arrival of Bharathi, a newly appointed bank manager in the village.

Michael Madana Kamarajan
Venugopal, a wealthy industrialist, marries a woman named Sushila and they have quadruplets. His brother Nandagopal tries to have her and the newborns killed by hired goons. However, the leader of the goons has no desire to kill the babies, so he adopts one (Michael), leaves one in an orphanage (Raju), one in a temple (Kameshwaran) who is picked by Palakkad Mani Iyer, a Brahmin, and one (Madhan) in a car that belongs to Venugopal.
30 years later, Madhan is now a London-educated businessman. Venugopal has raised Madhan as his adopted son, not knowing that he is his biological son. Venugopal is killed by Nandagopal and his nephew, Ramu for his inheritance, but unknown to them, the will has already named Madhan as the beneficiary.

Engeyum Kathal

Iyer IPS
Sathyaraj in a dual role. One role is of an IPS officer (Iyer) and the other is of a dada (Venkatachalapathy). The dada throughout the film has a dark skin and sports a bald head.
Iyer believes that dadas and rowdies must be eliminated through encounters. But his father thinks one does not have the right to take any life. Dada Venkatachalapthy plants bombs at various places in the city and puts the blame on Muslims. Iyer takes Venkatachalapathy into custody. His sons Pasupathi and Gajapathi try to kill Iyer. Now Iyer’s father turns against him and joins the villain. This sets off a chain of events leading to murders.

Sethu Boomi
The plot of the film explores the reasoning behind an alleged feud between the people of two districts in Tamil Nadu. The film aims at portraying the aggressive behaviour of certain miscreants, that leads to the death of a woman.

Sakalakala Vallavan
A young agriculturist Velu (Kamal Hassan) goes to extremes to attain revenge against his devious landlord and her family. He is an upright young man, but when his family gets cheated out of money, he decides it’s time to take a stand. Donning various disguises, he-with help from his sister Valli (Thulasi)-sets out seeking justice against the landlord and her confrontational daughter Geetha (Ambika) and son Pazhani (Raveendran).

Baana Kaathadi
One day, in his rush to grab hold of a falling kite, Ramesh( Adharvaa) bumps into Priya ( Samantha ), a fashion technology student. In the process, her pendrive falls into his pocket, without either of them realising. The pendrive consists of six months’ worth of Priya’s project work, and she needed to submit it. Asking the principal for an extension, Priya searches for Ramesh, and finally manages to find him. She thoroughly humiliates him, while he denies the pendrive is with him. After college one day, Ramesh and his friends see Priya on the road. They tease her and infuriate her, eventually leading to her slapping him. A few days later, while Ramesh’s mother is washing his pants, she finds the pendrive. Ramesh realises the fault is his, and immediately goes to return the pendrive. Priya is impressed with his attitude, as she expected him to keep the pendrive because she slapped him. This marks the beginning of their friendship. As time passes, Priya and Ramesh become closer. Urged by his friends, Ramesh goes to tell Priya that he loves her. However, while asking for money from his friend Kumar ( Karunaas ), he accidentally takes the condom from Kumar’s pocket as well. When Ramesh sees the condom, he tries to hide it from Priya. However, just then, the police arrives, and he is forced to drop it. Priya sees the condom and is shocked. She denies knowing Ramesh, resulting in him being taken to the police station. Ramesh is finally brought home, and refuses to talk to Priya. His friends try to talk to her, but she does not listen. However, when her friend tells her how much Ramesh actually loves her, she is finally convinced. Ramesh had actually bought Priya a grain of rice with her name written on it. Priya thus realises she also loves Ramesh and begins trying to get him to accept her. However, he refuses to accept her as he believes she thinks he is of lower-class. In a subplot, Ramesh witnesses a murder committed by the local gangster Ravi ( Prasanna ). In shock, Ramesh runs away, and eventually trips over an elderly man. The next day, Ravi sends Ramesh to Gujarat as he fears for his safety. A few days later, the deceased’s son appears in the Commissioner’s office with the elderly man, who claims he can identify the boy who ran into him. Apparently, the deceased is an ex-MLA, and the Commissioner decides to deal with the matter himself. The Inspector warns Ravi and his gang, implying to them that the witness should be killed. Meanwhile, Priya receives a call from her mother telling her that her father is going for surgery and asks her to return to the US. Priya tells Ramesh that she will be waiting at the bus stop the next day, at the same place where they first met. If he loves her, he would come. The next day, eventually being coaxed by Kumar, Ramesh goes to see her. On the way, Ravi tries to kill him, but his conscience gets the better of him. However, he also knows there is another goon in the same bus as Priya waiting to kill Ramesh. Ramesh manages to stand in front of Priya, and they hold hands for a while. Ramesh then slips off the steps and is run over by the bus. His mother, friends and Priya mourn his death while the goon who was supposed to kill him slips away. The movie ends with Priya in a car, looking at the grain of rice that has her name on it which Ramesh presented to her for her birthday.

Kaavalan
Bhoominathan (Vijay) idolises Muthuramalingam (Rajkiran), a rich powerful landlord, and at the request of his parents, he accepts to work for Muthuramalingam as his bodyguard. There enters Muthuramalingam’s rival, who has lost his daughter since she committed suicide, the reason being rejection by Muthuramalingam’s son. While Bhoomi protects Muthuramalingam, his rival threatens the life of his daughter Meera (Asin)
Bhoomi is sent to college along with Meera and her friend Madhu (Mithra Kurian) to protect them from the threat. Bhoomi joins the same class where Meera studies, as he has previously discontinued his education. Meera does not like Bhoomi following her as a bodyguard, and therefore plans to divert him. Meera calls Bhoomi over his mobile phone from a private number and introduces herself as “Ammukutty”. Initially, Bhoomi hates the mobile call as it will disturb him but later on develops a liking towards Ammukutty and slowly love blossoms for Bhoomi without knowing that it is Meera herself.
