Alai
Aathi (Silambarasan) and Meera (Trisha Krishnan) fall in love after the usual playful tiffs. On a visit to a friend’s village for his marriage, the two of them help the friend stand up against his father and wed his sweetheart instead of the girl his father had fixed up his marriage with. With all these things, Aathi’s father (Raghuvaran) arranges a marriage for him. After a big confusion, Aathi and Meera are together.

Nayagi
The film starts with Gayathri wondering to become a heroine and killing someone. The film shifts to a cafe where Sanjay a director is sent to meet his rich would-be-fiancée. Then he meets a girl who is not rich but it is revealed that she is fooled by him and he made her fall for him. He takes her to an old bungalow with wrong intentions and to shoot it. But Gayathri who appears only in camera scares them and reveals his intention to her and Gaythri possesses her. Sanjay meets Gayathri’s father’s soul and he starts narrating why Gayathri hates this type of men.

Padayappa
Padayappa is a mechanical engineer who returns to his village from Chennai after three years to attend his sister’s wedding. Padayappa’s family have been the richest landlords of their village and Chieftains for their region. Padayappa’s great grandfather had decreed all Hindu marriages in their region must take place in the Murugan temple, after the chieftain has verbally confirmed the consent from bride and groom. This tradition has been followed for 100 years and now Padayappa’s father is the chieftain. Padayappa’s younger sister is engaged to their maternal cousin Suryaprakash. During his stay, he comes across Vasundhara, and falls in love with her. However, shyness and fear of Neelambari, her landlady, prevents Vasundhara from initially expressing her feelings. Additionally, Neelambari is Suryaprakash’s spoilt US-returned sister who also loves Padayappa.

Mahesh meets Mythili (Kavitha Nair), a school student and daughter of a bus conductor Ponnusamy (Ilavarasu). Mythili falls for him; however, Ponnusamy opposes their affair. Things take a turn when Karuppu Balu (Kishore), the number one rowdy in the area, comes out of jail. Mahesh incurs the wrath of the aspiring MLA for no fault of his. Things take a turn when Mythili elopes from her house and Mahesh is forced to kill Balu. The movie ends with a strong message.
