College goer Karunakaran (Arulnidhi) finds it difficult to adjust with the society that he lives. As a result, he is unable to control his anger and ends up with trouble. His unpredictable behavior becomes a constant worry for his mother (Sujatha Sivakumar) and brother. A series of incidents force him to leave his hometown Madurai and end up in Chennai. Despite scoring high marks in school, he joins a local arts college in the city and stays in a hostel, where trouble begins. Meanwhile, while traveling from Bangalore to Chennai, Assistant Commissioner Marimuthu (John Vijay), Inspector Rajendran (Madhusudhan Rao), Sub-Inspector Selvam (Balakrishnan), and Sgt/Head Constable Perumalsamy (Krishnamurthy) witness a car accident. When they are about to take the victim (son of a Bangalore-based business tycoon) to a nearby hospital, they come across a huge stash of cash. The policemen kill the half-dead victim and flee to Chennai with the money. The sincere police officer Palaniammal (Uma Riyaz Khan) takes up this case. A cluster of lies, ego clash at the hostel, and family’s ignorance brings Karunakaran into this crime plot. The rest is a racy rollercoaster ride that forms the climax.

Puli helps his half-sister in return for her unexpected help and vouches for her safety. The rival gangs kill her and put the blame on his father. How Puli brings the truth to light and unites with his family completes the rest of the movie.

The local folks of Manapad town are getting ready to celebrate their biggest festival, Christmas and it is their annual tradition to participate in the procession, which is led by the father of the village’s oldest church and seek blessings from him. Thirumalai is very strict, short tempered and is referred as “Emden” by his relatives. Krishnan studies poultry science in a college and also assists his father in managing the store. Krishnan worries about his father’s rude behaviour towards him.
Divya (Gajala) is Krishnan’s classmate and she is also the daughter of the auditor who manages Thirumalai’s accounts. Divya proposes to Krishnan, who does not reciprocate as he loves his maternal uncle’s (Shanmugarajan) daughter, Janani (Gopika). But enmity prevails between Thirumalai and his in laws’ family. Krishnan lives with the hope that the two families will unite someday paving the way for his wedding.
