Chatur Singh Two Star
Bumbling cop Chatur Singh (Sanjay Dutt) is sent on a special mission to South Africa to solve a high-profile case involving the murder of a politician and a cache of diamonds. But before he can redeem his botched-up career he must deal with a bunch of loonies which includes a crazy mafia don (Satish Kaushik), a weird taxi driver (Sanjai Mishra), a hysterical boss (Anupam Kher), and a pretty damsel in distress (Ameesha Patel).
‘Honest’ Raj (Vijayakanth), a police officer in coma for four years, wakes up suddenly. Abhinaya (Gouthami), a newly appointed doctor, saves him from a killer with the help of Raj’s assistant Velu (Senthil).
In the past, Raj lived with his mother Maragatham (Manorama) and took the IPS exam. They shifted to their relative’s house in a village. Pushpa (Aamani), a village girl, fell in love with Raj. Raj’s best friend Bharatha (Devan) attempted to suicide after his father’s creditors pressured him. Raj saved him, and Bharatha lent his printing press company to Pazhani. Raj and Pushpa got married, and he passed the IPS exam successfully. Bharatha found counterfeit money in his factory and started an illegal business with Pazhani. Bharatha then became rich and killed his partners.
Kannan and Dass are two famous rowdies in their village. Dass has a sister called Uma with whom Manikkampillai (shortened as ‘Mapillai’) is in love but she is not interested in him. Mapillai joins Kannan’s and Dass’ firm KD & Company as the manager, in an attempt to win the love of their sister. KD & Company once keeps as hostage a music troupe who comes to their village to perform. The main singer of that troupe, Sangeetha gets expelled from her home because of this and so Kannan and Dass gives her refuge upon insistence from Uma. Meenakshi is the childhood friend of Kannan with whose father, both Kannan and Dass has enmity.
The film opens with Sakthi (Vishal), son of a forest ranger, beating up a gang that illegally cuts precious trees to earn money. Sakthi is a jungle trekker who spends his time bringing groups of tourists on trips into the jungle.
Almost immediately the story changes track and introduces Sakthi’s girlfriend Rupa (Sunaina). The lovers soon part ways citing compatibility issues where Rupa complains that Shakthi is not the loving boyfriend she wanted. Sakthi’s character is as such that he does not remember even a single detail in their love life that Rupa deems important. Rupa tells Sakthi that he does not seem to have the time for a girlfriend and that he does not even care to do so. Rupa further aggravates the situation by asking Sakthi to close his eyes and tell her the colour of the dress she was wearing right then, but Sakthi finds that he could not. Grieved, Rupa leaves Sakthi, saying this was his character and that he would not change.
Vijay (Arjun Sarja), a carefree and frolicsome youth, is sent by his father Deenadayalan (Ravichandran) in Ooty to work and becoming a responsible businessman. There, he falls in love with the college student Anjali (Vineetha). Her brothers (Mohan Raj and Vimalraj) are dangerous criminals and they are against their love because Vijay’s father is a police officer. Thereafter, Devaraj is sent to jail so his brother appoints the lawyer Karnaa (Arjun Sarja) who is disabled and a sensitive person. Later, Karnaa falls in love with the school teacher Amudha (Ranjitha), after few quarrels between both. One day, Deenadayalan saw Karnaa at the court who looks like his son Vijay. In the past, he had twin boys, but abandoned one of the twin baby because he was disabled. Karnaa is upset when he knew the truth and is now determined to win the case in front of his father. He finally wins the case and Devaraj is released immediately.
Aravindan (Vijay), Chandru (Suriya), and Krishnamurthy (Ramesh Khanna) value friendship over everything else, even family. For this reason, Chandru resists the advances of Aravindan’s sister Amutha (Vijayalakshmi). When the trio takes up a painter’s job at a mansion, Aravindan falls in love with Padmini (Devayani), who lives there. Padmini’s jealous cousin Abhirami (Abhinayashree) makes him believe that his overtures are reciprocated. When the truth is revealed and Padmini rejects him, Chandru stands up for his friend and speaks ill of her. This makes her swear to separate the friends. After the marriage, Aravindan realises the hand of Abhirami behind all the mishaps, and Padmini realises that Chandru is innocent. Chandru and Amutha’s marriage is arranged. Gautham (Sriman) is Aravindan’s cousin who is in love with Amutha and wants to separate the pair. He makes Chandru believe that Padmini is trying to kill Amutha. Padmini is angry with Chandru. Aravindan tells the truth that in their young ages, he unknowingly killed Chandru’s deaf and mute brother. Gautham records this and makes Chandru hear it. Chandru and Aravindan fight and go by their ways. Aravindan tries to convince Chandru but falls from the top of a mountain. Chandru believes that Aravindan is dead, but after five years, he finds out that Aravindan is not dead but has ended up in a coma. Gautham is now torturing his family a lot. When he comes to know that Chandru has come back, he starts to beat him up. After hearing Chandru’s cry of pain, Aravindan wakes up from his coma. He beats up Gautham, and everyone rejoins and lives happily.
