Murphy “Barfi” Johnson (Ranbir Kapoor) is an optimistic , street-wise, charming young man who was born deaf to a Nepali couple in Darjeeling. His mother died when he was a baby and his father raised him alone while working as a chauffeur. Barfi is known as a troublemaker – he cuts lampposts, plays practical jokes on innocent people, and is chased by Sudhanshu Dutta (Saurabh Shukla), a local police officer. Barfi meets Shruti Ghosh (Ileana D’Cruz), who has just arrived in Darjeeling; she is engaged to Ranjeet Sengupta (Jisshu Sengupta) and is due to get married in three months, and Barfi is immediately smitten with Shruti. She also falls in love with Barfi but her mother dissuades her from pursuing him because he could not take care of her with his disabilities and lack of money. Shruti takes her mother’s advice, gets married, and moves to Kolkata, breaking all contact with Barfi.
Maruthu (Vishal) is a labourer from Rajapalayam who personally does not tolerate injustice anywhere. He leads a happy life with his grandmother Appathaa (Kulappulli Leela) and his younger brother Kokkarako (Soori). One day, he encounters Bhagyalakshmi alias Bhagyam (Sri Divya), a bold young woman, at a temple, but their first meeting does not go well due to a misunderstanding, and he ends up at a police station. However, with Appathaa’s help, Maruthu soon manages to win Bhagyam’s heart. One day, he sees some goons chasing Bhagyam and her father (G. Marimuthu) near the market where he is working. Maruthu beats up the goons and then learns from Bhagyam’s father why the goons are after them.
Joker is a political satire which criticises the present political absurdities. Mannar Mannan (Protagonist), a rural villager, who self declares himself as President of India, always protests Government for all the absurdities happening around his village. Most of the time he is seen as a Joker. He’s trailed at court for his various continuous acts. There comes his past, where he loves a beautiful girl from his near by village. The girl is willing to marry him only if he could build a toilet at his home. Government announces a toilet scheme through which all the villagers will get toilet at their homes throughout India. President plans to visit a village and he chose protagonist’s village. What happens when the President comes? is toilet built at their home? did they get married? answers protagonist’s act of declaring himself as President. At the end, the audiences are questioned for their involvement in opposing absurdities (who’s the real Jokers)!
Chatur Singh Two Star
Bumbling cop Chatur Singh (Sanjay Dutt) is sent on a special mission to South Africa to solve a high-profile case involving the murder of a politician and a cache of diamonds. But before he can redeem his botched-up career he must deal with a bunch of loonies which includes a crazy mafia don (Satish Kaushik), a weird taxi driver (Sanjai Mishra), a hysterical boss (Anupam Kher), and a pretty damsel in distress (Ameesha Patel).
Thaka Thimi Tha
Ankitha ( Gayu ) and Yuva Krishna fall in love with each other in college. But when Yuva tells his friends about being close to Gayu and describes her, she gets angry and they split apart. After finishing college, Gayu’s family stays in a house opposite to that of Yuva. Their families get to know about their earlier love and try to rejoin them . The rest of the story is how Gayu gets convinced.
Devaraj (Vinod), a gangster, is hired to steal a bag from a house, and he delegates this task to his underlings, Varadhu (AP Shreethar), Rathna (Raj Bharath), Ritchie (Madhivanan Rajendran) and Sethu (Balaji). Varadhu, who has just broken up with his girlfriend (who has insulted him for being a nobody), finds out that the bag has crores of cash and decides that this could be his moment to get rich. The four criminals scoot away with the bag to a remote village, where they take refuge under Janardhanan (Amarendran), an elderly man whose family were once zamindars, and Bala (Tejaswini), his young wife(Mithra Kurian). During their stay, Rathna and Bala begin an affair, and Arasi (Pooja Devariya), Richie’s girlfriend, also enters the scene. She causes a problem between Richie and his gang causing the couple to break up. Devaraj tracks them down and in a freak accident, becomes paralyzed. Janardhanan dies in a hunting trip and Bala is united with Rathna. They all start a hotel by the name of Andhra Mess in Janadhanan’s property.
The film opens with Shiva going to college for an exam, where his pen runs out of ink. He receives a new one from the girl next to him, Sindhya. He immediately falls for her and starts following her. He attends an educational tour with Sindhya, Vasanth, and Priya (Vasanth’s lover). Eventually, Sindhya falls for Shiva too. He then finds out that she got the top rank in the test and a scholarship to the US. Before she leaves, Sindhya invites Shiva to breakfast at her house while her family is out. At her house, Shiva strips her and the two end up having sex. Sindhya then goes to the US. She comes back three months later, saying that she has some private information to tell him. When she gets back, she announces to Shiva that she is pregnant, thinking that no one else is in the house. However, Shiva’s mom and dad overhear and they scold the two for having sex.
The film skips ahead a few years to show Shiva and Sindhya, husband and wife, having a child. Sindhya is working while Shiva is an unemployed husband, looking after the child at home. Sindhya’s brother Randy, a psychiatrist, tries to help by setting up a trick for Shiva to discover his interests. He sets up a plot in which Shiva overhears Sindhya talking to a person named Mahesh who is really Randy, making Shiva think that the child is not his, but someone else’s. Sindhya and Randy want Shiva to overhear them talking. Shiva gets suspicious about who Mahesh is and starts getting data from the library, helped by Vasanth. The climax is in the people he meets and he finally figures who it is. He accuses Sindhya and tries to kill the child. His family and Randy then explain what happened. He then rewrites the test and passes. The movie ends with Shiva getting a job and Randy still on his case on whether he is back to normal.
Set in the forests of Arunachal, Bhediya is a story of Bhaskar, a man who gets bitten by a wolf, and begins to transform into the creature. As Bhaskar and his buddies try to find answers, a bunch of twists, turns, and laughs ensue.
The film begins at a journey in train where Paari (Jiiva) looks back at everything. Cut to the beginning, one remote village in Ramanathapuram. Paari is a do-gooder helping everyone in need. A magnanimous man, he gives anything and everything to others if they ask for. Promising his father Vasu (Azhagam Perumal) to earn more, Paari sets out to Chennai but faces more challenges. He meets a young girl Madhi (Poonam Bajwa) and falls in love with her. Some goons also cause trouble for Paari. Meanwhile, Sivamani (J. D. Chakravarthy), the dreaded but sophisticated don of the city, is getting ready to marry Madhi. When the two stories meet, chaos ensue. It is up to Paari and Sivamani to sort it out.
