Ramachandran aka Ram (Vijay Sethupathi) is a happy-go-lucky freelance photographer. He visits his high school during a trip and is overcome by memories. A reunion is fixed through their school WhatsApp group. At the reunion, Murali, Subhashini, Sathish (Ram’s school friends) catch up. Murali hesitatingly mentions that Jaanu (Ram’s childhood sweetheart) is coming. Ram gets uncomfortable and walks away to be alone. The movie shift’s to Ram’s 10th standard days. Jaanu is a talented singer. Ram reveals since the earliest days of childhood, he and Jaanu have been together. Ram develops a love for Jaanu. On the last day after exams, Jaanu sprays ink on his white shirt and asks him not to forget her.
Madhu (Githan Ramesh) always roams on a bike. Mercy (Priyamani) and Esther (Jahnavi) are friends and hostel mates. Mercy believes in Jesus and is very kind and humble towards others. Esther is bold, glamorous in dressing, and teases everyone. One day, when Esther teases Madhu, he kisses her publicly. Madhu falls in love with Mercy at first sight when she rescued a puppy from raining. Madhu often gets the chance to meet Mercy. He comes to the hostel and expresses his love to Mercy, but she denies his love. After examination, Mercy goes to her hometown Mahi. Madhu follows her. Her father Siluvai (Ashish Vidyarthi) owes to bring up his daughter to a good position. Madhu becomes Siluvai’s favorite. Esther enters the scene with lots of change in her character. Siluvai comes to know about their love affair, and his decision forms the rest of the story. In the end, Madhu and Mercy die by falling down from a hill.
Vaanavaraayan (Rajinikanth) is a feudal chieftain, adored and respected by the people of his village. He lives with his grandparents (M. N. Nambiar & Manorama). Following his advice, they abstain from voting in the elections and instead, pool the money given by the candidates to get themselves some basic amenities. Vallavaraayan (Napoleon) is his arch enemy. Their enmity is further sharpened when Vaanavaraayan wins the hand of Vaitheeswari (Meena), whom Vallavaraayan had also wished to wed. Vallavaraayan then convinces the priest of the village temple to mix poison in the holy water that Vaitheeswari drinks. As a result, she becomes incapable of conceiving a baby. But surprisingly, Vaitheeswari soon becomes pregnant-though she has pretended with the help of the mid-wife (S. N. Lakshmi), to do so to uphold her husband’s honour. She takes poison and kills herself unable to bear the grief of being incapable of giving her husband a child and on her deathbed makes Vaanavarayan swear to take Ponni (Aishwariya) as his wife. Vaanavarayan however refuses until Ponni agrees to marry Sembattai (Thalapathi Dinesh)- Vallavarayan’s hechman-who abandons her to Vallavarayan’s vice. Infuriated, Vaanavarayan attacks Vallavarayan and spares his life after giving him a sermon on how to win the heart of the people.
Teri Meri Kahaani
Deva and Shiva (both played by Ajith Kumar) are twins. Deva, the elder, is deaf and mute; but he is a genius, an expert at lip-reading, and the head of a successful advertising company. Shiva loves and trusts his brother. Priya (Simran) wants to marry someone who is an ex-smoker, ex-drunkard, and who got ditched by a girl but is pining for her. Learning this, Shiva, with the help of his friend Vicky (Vivek), invents an old romance between him and Sona (Jyothika), and finds his way into Priya’s heart.
Meanwhile, Deva chances upon Priya and lusts for her. His obsession continues even after his brother gets married to the girl of his dreams, and he devises various means of getting close to Priya and keeping Shiva and her separated.
The Movie is about Aalamaram is dreaded by his enemies in Aattuthotti in Madurai. He involves in ‘katta panchayat’ but strives to do his best for the people in the neighborhood. He is adored and respected by everyone there. He is assisted by his son Kutty and his son-in-law. There is Gomathi, Kutty’s niece who loves him madly. And there are local MP Cutout Ganesan and DIG, both keen to bump off Aalamaram and Kutty. Enters a woman cop Caroline Thomas. She assumes all powers and she succeeds in finishing Aalamaram. Meanwhile, Caroline meets Kutty and love blossoms between them. Eventually a sequence of events leads to an interesting climax.
The film tells the story of Kamini (Namitha), who plans to get back at her ex-lover Santhosh Srinivasan (Srikanth) by re-entering his life as the wife of his boss John Kumaramangalam (Nassar). Santhosh is the creative head of a television channel called Teen TV (though it does indulge in political exposés). He is married to Savithri Duraisimaalu (Shruti Marathe), and his life turns topsy-turvy when John reinstates Kamini as the head of the TV channel, a promotion Santhosh had anticipated for himself. Following this, it is a simple story with Kamini starting to hurl sexual harassment accusations at Santhosh.
Siva (Dhanush) is asked to help a friend in a love marriage. Siva kidnaps Pooja (Genelia D’Souza) on a mistaken identity from the marriage hall. When Pooja is kidnapped, her uncles (both are from the Gounder community) and their henchmen follow them.
Sattam Oru Iruttarai
The story is set in a rural area around Madurai, in the village called Paruthiyur, which still practices caste segregation as a result of the controversial Criminal Tribes Act imposed by the British colonists, where members of impoverished communities are stereotyped as generational criminals.
Paruthiveeran (Karthi) is a country brash whose inter-caste parents were ostracized by the villagers since his higher caste father married his lower caste mother. After his parents’ death, Paruthiveeran was mostly raised by his doting paternal uncle Chevvaazhai (Saravanan) who pampers and accompanies him in every misbehavior to keep him happy. Having grown up among his mother’s people, he is often arrested for petty crimes. His one ambition in life is to gain enough notoriety to be on TV news and to be thrown into Madras Jail. He often bullies Paruthiyur villagers for money and fun.
